The Manzanita MPEG Stream Identifier (MPEGID) is an easy-to-use tool that rapidly identifies MPEG video and audio file formats, characterizes their properties and displays their contents. It's an indispensable tool for file based workflows in digital television, video on demand, streaming media, and DVD applications that can:

Major Features
- Identifies a wide variety of MPEG audio/video formats. Video formats include MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 H.264/AVC, & MPEG-4 Part 2 Video Streams, MPEG-1 System Streams, MPEG-2 Program Streams, VOB Streams, MPEG-4 ISO Base Media Files, MPEG-2 Transport Streams. Audio formats include MPEG Layer I & II, MP-3, AAC, MPEG-4 AAC (HE-AAC), DTS, AC-3 & Enhanced AC-3, and SMPTE 302M Audio Streams. Also ids private & DVB Subtitle Streams.
- Displays & saves important stream properties including MPEG profile, file size, duration, bit rate, frame rate, and much more. Results can be saved to a text file.
- Automates batch analysis using scripts. MPEGID can be executed via command line for high-volume or automated applications. Its output can be directed to a file for a saved text report.
- Extracts video & audio streams using an integrated demultiplexer. Video and audio elementary streams can be saved from existing system, program, transport stream, or MPEG-4 media files.
- Available on multiple platforms. Windows (2000, Server 2003, XP, or Vista), Linux (i386+ compatible, X11 R6.8 or newer), and Mac OS X (v10.3 or newer).
